According to Tasnim News Agency, Iran
In contravention of international regulations prohibiting military action against nuclear installations, the Zionist enemy attacked the Arak research nuclear reactor and the Khondab heavy water complex, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said Thursday.
According to the AEOI, there have been no injuries from the Israeli operation.
Because of the precautions the AEOI had made in advance, it also provided reassurance that the local residents living close to the nuclear site would not be threatened or harmed.
According to Times Of Israel
The military said that as an operation to dismantle the Iranian nuclear program reached its seventh day, the Israeli Air Force destroyed Iran's Arak heavy water reactor Thursday morning, followed by a second hit on the Natanz enrichment plant and dozens of other military facilities overnight.
The Israel Defense Forces reported that 40 fighter jets dropped 100 munitions on dozens of Iranian military installations in Tehran and other parts of Iran during a round of nocturnal raids.
"To stop the reactor from being restored and used for nuclear weapons development, the strike targeted the component meant for plutonium production," the military stated.
Separately, Israel claimed to have hit another location near Natanz that it linked to Iran's nuclear program.
On June 19, 2025, Israel’s Air Force targeted Iran’s Arak Heavy-Water Reactor, located about 250 kilometers southwest of Tehran. This strike is part of a broader Israeli campaign to target Iran's nuclear infrastructure, including the Natanz enrichment complex and other strategic sites. The operations were characterized by Israel as a preemptive measure to halt Iran's production of plutonium, an essential component of nuclear weapons.
In an unusual tactic, the Israeli military used social media sites like X to warn inhabitants in and around Arak to evacuate before the attack began. The strike zone was shown by a red circle on a satellite photograph of the nuclear site. Iranian official TV guaranteed that there was no radioactive hazard and confirmed that the site had been evacuated.
Earlier Israeli Strikes
Several Iranian locations have already been affected by Israel's June campaign-
- Natanz: Up to 60% enriched uranium may be produced in the Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant (PFEP), which was damaged.
- Fordow: Affected twice, but not severely.
- Parchin: On June 12 and 15, a military facility connected to nuclear weapons research was struck.
