Iran Condemns US-Israel Strikes on Nuclear Sites - Crimes Under International Law blog
The joint US-Israeli military strikes on Iran's nuclear sites were sharply denounced by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), which said they were a blatant breach of international law and a reckless provocation that would not be tolerated.

On June 21–22, 2025, U.S. military aircraft targeted three of Iran’s nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, utilizing B-2 stealth bombers equipped with bunker-busting GBU-57s and submarine-launched Tomahawks.

Iran Condemns US, Israeli Attacks on Nuclear Facilities as International Crime

According to Tasnim News Agency

The joint US-Israeli military strikes on Iran's nuclear sites were sharply denounced by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), which said they were a blatant breach of international law and a reckless provocation that would not be tolerated.

Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan were targeted at dawn in a "barbaric and illegal act," in a blatant violation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), according to a statement issued by the AEOI in response to the US assault on Iran's nuclear infrastructures.

The AEOI went on to say, "It is regrettable that this action—which is obviously against international law—has occurred with the disregard and, in certain cases, complicity of the International Atomic Energy Agency."

The statement urged the international community to support Iran in defending its legal rights and to condemn the US's "lawless jungle behavior."

The Atomic Energy Organization said "Iran assures the noble Iranian nation that it will not allow the peaceful development of this national industry—born from the blood of nuclear martyrs—to be derailed, despite the evil conspiracies of the enemies."

The recent airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities by the United States and Israel were strongly and unanimously condemned by the country's top leadership.  Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned of "everlasting consequences" and condemned the strikes as "outrageous," "criminal behavior," and a flagrant breach of the UN Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).  Iran's Atomic Energy Organization echoed this position, calling the strikes a "violent act against international laws" and vowing to carry on the nation's nuclear program.  Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader, declared the operation a "crime" and affirmed Iran's constitutional right to retaliation in accordance with the UN Charter.

At Fordow, the attack only resulted in surface-level damage, Manan Raeisi told Tasnim News. "Critical infrastructure is still in place despite the falsehoods of America's dishonest president. The majority of what was struck was on the ground and completely repairable," he said.
