Imran Khan Health Rumours Explained: Adiala Jail Issues Statement as PTI Raises Concerns blog

Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan who has been imprisoned since August 2023, has recently been the subject of great conjecture because to various rumors on social media that he has either passed away or been covertly transferred from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

In response, jail officials released a statement on November 27, 2025, stating that the rumors were "baseless" and confirming that Imran Khan is still being held at Adiala, "fully healthy," and receiving standard facilities and regular medical care.

Senior officials, including Khawaja Asif, asserted that Khan's jail conditions are far more comfortable than typical prison terms, comparing his meals to those of a "five-star" hotel and claiming he has access to amenities like a double bed, a velvet mattress, TV, and exercise.

However, many people are still quite doubtful. Concerns regarding transparency have been heightened by reports that Khan's family, including his sisters, and attorneys have been denied visitation rights for more than three weeks.  His sister said that she and other family members were "brutally assaulted" by police outside the jail when they attempted to meet him. His family members have publicly voiced concern over the lack of information.
Protests and political unrest have resulted from these occurrences; Khan's fans and members of his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), have called for prompt and open access to him. The active spread of death rumors via some social media and international media platforms exacerbates the public's mounting fear.

There is currently no reliable, independent, publicly accessible medical or eyewitness evidence to support allegations of serious illness or death. Contrary to the negative reports from some family members and fans, the jail itself maintains that Imran Khan is alive and healthy and denies any misconduct. This is the sole publicly verifiable update.
